Brace Secures €220K in Funding to Commercialise Social Rehabilitation App

Guinness Enterprise Center, Dublin, Ireland, 30th September 2024 – Brace, an Irish digital health startup, is excited to announce the successful closing of €220K in funding from Enterprise Ireland’s Pre-Seed Start Fund and angel investors Julian Bewley (Sportech, Spond), Michael Dwyer (Pigsback), and Bertrand Fontaine (Telemos Capital). This funding will accelerate the launch of Brace’s new subscription offerings and support the rollout of its redesigned platform.

Brace empowers users on their injury rehabilitation journey by leveraging community motivation, collective insights, and gamification to enhance adherence to recovery plans and improve overall wellbeing. The newly secured funding will enable Brace to commercialise its flagship product, the Brace App, with the first strategic partnerships to be announced later in 2024. The app offers a unique, engaging approach to injury rehabilitation, helping users stay on track through a supportive community-driven experience.

“We’ve had an incredibly positive response to Brace from users around the world, reaffirming the vital role that community plays in driving engagement, buy-in, and wellbeing during rehabilitation,” said Conor Motyer, Co-founder & CEO of Brace. “Our focus now is on scaling user acquisition channels and accelerating product development as we prepare for a larger investment round in 2025.”

Co-founder & CTO Clinton Sweetnam added, “We are also very excited to have welcomed AJ Browne as our Product Lead earlier this year, who has been instrumental in advancing product innovation and driving growth.”

Brace extends its deepest thanks to advisors Julian Bewley, Michael Dwyer, Bertrand Fontaine, and Dr Nicol Van Dyk (University College Dublin) for their continued guidance. The company also acknowledges the tremendous support received from Enterprise Ireland, the New Frontiers Programme, InterTrade Ireland, the Connected Health & Wellbeing Cluster, Smart D8, Furthr and the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC).
